Determination Labs
The company site for the thing I co-founded. Security that doesn't talk down to you, and a site that matches.
Determination Labs is the security company I run with Jacob out of Berlin, so this one had no client to blame. Everything on it is a decision we had to own: the tone, the ASCII, the fact that there's no stock photo of a hooded guy typing anywhere on the page.
Most security sites either scream at you or bury you in acronyms. We wanted the opposite. The copy explains what we're building and why it matters to a normal person, and the design stays calm enough that you actually read it. The big ASCII illustrations do the heavy lifting visually so we never had to reach for generic tech imagery.
It's also the reference point for everything else on this page. The layout system, the typography, the way sections breathe? that all started here and got reused, argued with, and refined on client work afterwards.
